e-GP registration step by step (fee, documents, approval)

Last updated: · 6 min read

At a glance
  • To bid, your firm must register as a tenderer on the e-GP portal, eprocure.gov.bd.
  • You need: an email, trade licence, TIN, BIN (VAT), NID, bank details, and RJSC papers for a limited company.
  • For years the new registration fee was Tk 5,000 and yearly renewal Tk 2,000. Check the latest fee on e-GP.
  • Pay the fee at an e-GP partner bank. You get an email once verification is done.
  • Never share your password. When you submit a bid, it is your signature.

The steps

  1. Go to eprocure.gov.bd and start a new user registration as a tenderer.
  2. Enter your firm's own email and a strong password, then verify through the link sent to that email.
  3. Fill in the firm type, address, and owner or authorised person's details.
  4. Upload scans of your trade licence, TIN, BIN, NID and other documents.
  5. Pay the registration fee at any e-GP partner bank branch.
  6. When e-GP verifies and approves the documents, you get an email and can log in to bid.

e-GP registration is how your firm gets on record as a tenderer on the government e-tendering portal, eprocure.gov.bd. Without it you cannot buy tender documents or bid. Register once and you can bid on e-GP tenders from any office in the country; you only renew it each year. Everything happens online, except one trip to a bank to pay the fee.

Who registers

Any firm or person who wants to bid for Works, Goods or Services needs it: sole proprietors, partnerships and limited companies alike. Consultants can register as individual consultants. Foreign firms have a separate fee and conditions.

You do not need registration just to look at tenders. Anyone can browse e-GP's public pages and ProcureIndex's today's tenders.

Documents you need

Scan everything beforehand and keep it in one folder. Files must be clear and readable. Usually asked for:

  • Email address: use the firm's own email, not a shop's or an agent's. It becomes your user ID and every notice goes there.
  • Trade licence: valid, not expired.
  • TIN certificate: e-TIN of the firm or owner.
  • VAT registration (BIN): needed for many kinds of work.
  • NID: of the owner or authorised person.
  • Bank details: the firm's bank account.
  • Limited company: RJSC certificate of incorporation, memorandum and articles.
  • Partnership: the partnership deed.
  • Authorisation: a power of attorney or board resolution if someone other than the owner runs the account.
  • Photo: of the authorised person.

The list changes from time to time. Read the tenderer registration instructions on the e-GP home page before you start.

The fee and where to pay

For local tenderers the new registration fee was Tk 5,000 for many years, with a yearly renewal fee of Tk 2,000. Foreign tenderers pay a different fee. Fees can change, so check the latest rules on e-GP or the BPPA site.

You pay at a branch of any partner bank linked to e-GP. Many large public and private banks are on the list, which is on the e-GP site. Tell the bank your registered email. The bank takes the money and confirms the payment in the system. Keep the receipt.

Step by step

The main steps are listed above. A few need extra care:

Email verification: after you submit the form, e-GP emails you a link. If you do not open it in time you may have to start again. Check your spam folder.

Filling in details: write the firm's name exactly as it is on the trade licence. A spelling mismatch holds up verification. You also enter your type of work and experience here.

Uploads: each file has a size limit. Shrink large scans, but keep them readable.

Verification and approval: after the fee and uploads, e-GP staff check the documents. It usually takes a few working days. If something is wrong they email you, and you fix and resubmit. Once approved you get an email and can log in and bid.

Costs to plan for

Registration is not the only cost. Keep in mind:

  • The registration fee, then the yearly renewal.
  • Keeping the trade licence, TIN and VAT registration current, if you do not have them yet.
  • The document price for each tender, which is not refunded.
  • The tender security for each bid, returned if you do not win.
  • Bank guarantee charges.

Many people pay a shop or an agent to register for them. Do it yourself and you only pay the fee, and the password stays with you. It is not hard; the form takes an afternoon.

About the password and "tokens"

People often ask whether they need a separate token or digital certificate to bid. On e-GP, the final step of bid submission is signed and locked with your login password. So your password is effectively your signature. Do not share it with anyone, not even the computer shop. Someone with your password can bid, or withdraw a bid, in your name. If e-GP introduces a new verification method it announces it on the site, so keep an eye on the notices.

Do not forget renewal

Registration lasts one year. When it expires the account is locked and you cannot bid. Finding that out the day before a closing leaves you nothing to do. Pay the renewal at least two weeks before expiry. When your trade licence or other documents are renewed, upload the new copies too.

Your first tender after registration

Once registered:

  1. Find tenders for your district and type of work. See how to find government tenders.
  2. Check eligibility, then pay the document price and buy the documents.
  3. Put up the tender security at the bank in time.
  4. Submit the bid at least a day before closing. The site slows down at the last minute.

Every district page, such as Dhaka or Rajshahi, shows live tenders and the firms that win most there.

Common problems

  • No email arrived: check spam, then contact the e-GP helpdesk.
  • Verification stuck: usually a name mismatch or an unclear scan. The email says why.
  • Two firms on one email: not possible. Each firm needs its own email.
  • Forgot the password: the login page has a reset option; the link goes to your registered email.
